The election of Superior General and council will take place on August 2-3, 2017. Here is the whole program so you can accompany us with your prayers.
The Sisters of General Government presented the governance report for the six years of their service. Statistics showed that in spite of our ups and downs, the number of sisters has remained about the same with much growth in Asia and Africa. The reestructuration process has implied a lot of work and generated multiple opportunities for meetings and gatherings to support and guide this journey. Each Prefecture offered their report and then we met in small groups to discuss the joys and challenges that the Report presented.
The following sisters were elected to serve in different capacities:
EVALUATION OF THE GOVERNANCE REPORT
EVALUATION OF THE ECONOMY REPORT
Our morning began with prayer, after the orientation given by Fr. Llorenç, SJ. Following the Ignatian Exercises, he invited us to place ourselves in a situation of maximum interior freedom, so we could choose and better serve God. To do this, simply allow God to see us and see ourselves as God sees us.
The official Inaugural Session took place at noon. Mª Soledad Galeron, Superior General, presented her message to the chapter members with much emotion and love. Letters sent to the Chapter were summarily read.
In the afternoon, mass was celebrated by Bishop Rodriguez Carballo, Secretary of the Congregation For the Institutes of Consecrated Life And the Societies of Apostolic Life. Representatives of the different entities presented a picture and explained in brief words the gifts and challenges of their entity. Bishop exhorted us to live in evangelical joy our vocation with fraternity and prophetic zeal, always praying for religious who are struggling with their vocation.
Following mass, we had our first chapter session where the Chapter Rules were approved and the following sisterswere chosen to serve in different capacities during the Chapter:
